Artwork Care Guide

How to keep your artwork looking beautiful for decades

Your artwork is made to last. With a little care, your fine art products will remain vibrant and beautiful for many years to come. Here are the care instructions for each product type.

Universal Care Rules

Avoid direct sunlight

Like all other art, it is not advisable to hang artwork in areas of direct sunlight. Extended exposure will cause fading over time.

Avoid moisture and humidity

All artwork products are not water-resistant. Avoid exposure to water and overly humid conditions.

Protect when transporting

Always protect your artwork with protective packaging when transporting to avoid damage.

Handle with clean, dry hands

Natural oils and acids from your fingers can mark artwork surfaces. Always handle with clean, dry hands.

Product-Specific Care

Keepsake Portrait Box

Your box is crafted from natural timber. It will have some irregular grain patterns, small knots, and colour variations — these add to the beauty and are not considered flaws.

The clear acrylic lid is designed to have a small amount of movement within the box. This is essential to allow for expansion and contraction of the timber as seasons, temperature, and humidity change.

Use a soft dry cloth to gently buff any fingerprints from the timber. Do not spray cleaning fluids onto the timber as they may cause damage.

For fingerprints on the acrylic lid, use a very small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a clean microfibre cloth with light wiping.

The internal matted fine art prints can be cleaned of light marks with a soft white eraser gently rubbed over the affected area.

Fine art prints are printed on uncoated matte fine art paper — treat with care. Hold using the outer white border to avoid marking the print with oils or acids from your fingers.

Wherever possible, do not touch the print surface. Store in its box.

Keep out of direct sunlight. Protect with packaging when transporting.

Canvas Wall Art

Our canvas has a UV protective coating over the surface, which maximises archival qualities and makes it easy to clean.

When hanging canvas collections, space the products by approximately 2 inches to achieve the best look and 'wow' factor.

Canvas products are ready to display using the included hanging wire.

Do NOT poke, press, or lean on the canvas — this WILL stretch the canvas and can be irreversible damage.

Liquids should never be used to clean a canvas product. Wipe down with a clean, dry cloth or light feather duster only.

Avoid sharp objects touching the surface, or leaning the product against any pointed object that may pierce or stretch the canvas.

Metal prints are the most durable and easy to clean of all the artwork options.

Digital Files

Download your files immediately upon receipt.

Make an extra copy — or two. Save copies in multiple places: one on your local drive, and at least one in the cloud (Dropbox, Google Drive, or Amazon Photos).

Your digital media will look beautiful when printed up to 11×14". For larger wall pieces, contact the studio for assistance.

Be aware of aspect ratio when printing. Most images are delivered in a 2×3" aspect ratio. They can safely be printed in a 5×7" ratio. For 8×10" prints, consider ordering 8×12" to keep the entire image intact.

Order prints from the gallery in which your files were delivered — these are delivered from a professional-grade lab, ensuring colour and quality are top-notch.

Please share images just as they are, without adding filters when posting to social media.
